KI Kompass at the "Mir maachen de Punkt!"

A member of the KI Kompass working group was invited as an expert on the SNJ’s late-night format “Mir Maachen de Punkt”.

The aim of this project is to actively involve young people in societal debate and to enable them to engage with current topics through independent media production. To this end, the young participants design both the content and creative elements of a late-night show themselves. They gain insight into journalistic and filmmaking practices while also having the opportunity to exchange with experts.

The topic of this edition was “AI in Schools”: the pupils of the 2e from the Lycée Robert Schumann explored the role of AI in today’s classrooms and examined what the rapid technological changes mean for the education sector.

The young hosts produced several short video segments addressing three central questions and concerns. These formed the basis for the subsequent discussions, which were guided by a moderator:

  1. How is the use of AI introduced and presented in schools?
  2. Are there concerns that AI could worsen the situation for pupils with learning difficulties?
  3. How can the use of AI in exams and homework be better monitored?

Following the experts’ responses, the moderator opened the discussion to questions from the audience.

The full production is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrVwGolmOhM

In this episode, the young participants gained insights into developments in education policy, pedagogical opportunities, and the realistic challenges facing schools. These aspects were presented in the context of the strategic framework for artificial intelligence in schools in February 2026.
