IFEN proposes a variety of trainings on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The format ranges from short hybrid courses to conferences and pedagogical days.
The topics cover fundamental questions such as ethics, critical thinking and digital competencies, as well as practical contents on the applications of AI tools in class. The aim is to provide teachers and school directors with a greater understanding of the opportunities and challenges connected to AI, and to reinforce the capacity to integrate AI in a responsible and pertinent manner into their pedagogical and administrative practice – both as a subject of learning and as a supportive tool.
The offer is addressed to primary and secondary schools and is updated regularly.
Communities of Practice (CoP) are structured groups that provide a space for exchange and collaboration for teachers and school directors. They follow a clear methodology and are focused on addressing specific questions related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in schools and education.
The focus in these communities is the collegial exchange accompanied by expert moderation. Participants test different approaches in their own classes, reflect on their own experiences and share them within the group.
Communities may be organised according to different criteria: topic (e.g., language models), discipline, type of school and level of experience (beginner to experienced users).
The objective is to create a lively learning platform and an exchange that supports the continuous implementation of AI in the educational system.
IFEN’s division on school development (développement scolaire) offers tailored support for schools who wish to explore or deepen their use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This support constitutes the development of methodical approaches, as well as the appropriate use of adapted tools that place an emphasis on teaching and learning.
A central element is the support provided in primary schools by specialised teachers for digital literacy (instituteur en compétences numériques, I-CN). They are available on site as consultants, offer support with the testing of tools, support local projects and are flexible to cater to specific requests.
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the educational system necessitates adjustments with regards to educational management. Schools play a key role in safely creating and steering the transition process.
IFEN proposes specific support offers: school leadership teams’ strategic roles are strengthened by equipping them with adapted tools and by accompanying them with the management of pedagogical AI developments.
The offers also include trainings that are updated regularly based on central topics, such as, strategic management of schools, ethics, change management, selection and introduction of tools, as well as, competence development. Tailored support may also be provided upon agreement.
